Center for Climate Change Gevgelija is starting the informational campaign for promoting the project “Cross border partnership for environmental protection and better life quality”

Center for Climate Change Gevgelija is starting the informational campaign for promoting the project “Cross border partnership for environmental protection and better life quality” financed through IPA programme for cross border cooperation Bulgaria – Macedonia, first call for proposals 2014TC16I5CB006-2015-1.

The main objective of the project is to intensify and promote cross-border cooperation between people and institutions to jointly address the environmental problems associated with waste management and pollution prevention in the border region through enabling better quality of life in the region.

The information campaign will be implemented at all municipalities of the Southeast Region and it will include primary school students aged 6 to 15 years, civil society organizations and small and medium enterprises operating in the field of waste management. Also, at 12 primary schools will be donated 2 sets bins (each set will consists of four cans of different color for collecting different types of waste: glass, paper, plastics and waste electrical and electronic equipment), two tubes for collection waste batteries and 50 sticks waste collection.

Within the project will be developed application for mobile phones with which everyone can report illegal landfills and other contaminated areas in the border region, a training program designed for primary schools which will cover topics waste management, its reduction and recycling and educational book about the life cycle of waste intended for children and students under 16 years.
